FAQs
Frequently asked questions
How do you know the positions of vehicles?
We use a combination of Bluetooth proximity sensors, as well as higher-bandwidth connectivity backbones like LTE and 5G where available. We also offer point-to-point ad-hoc connections.
What if our vehicle fleet is not GPS-equipped?
In case your vehicles are not yet equipped with GPS-enabled devices and a central server for tracking their data, we can build out your fleet with tracking systems that are compatible with the PATS.
Is the PATS designed to replace existing safety protocols?
The PATS is not a replacement for existing safety protocols, but rather an extra layer of protection: we call it “an additional layer in the safety net.”
Why did you create the PATS?
The inspiration for creating the PATS came through identifying the problems with existing safety protocols in the mining industry. Many of the safety protocols in use today haven’t changed for many decades, and each year, scores of workers around the world suffer serious injuries or lose their lives due to vehicle collisions, unsafe zoning delineation, and other factors.
How can we determine whether the PATS is right for us?
We offer a no-obligation trial of the PATS device. If it doesn’t work for your organization, you can return the device with no charge.
Does the PATS work in all environments?
Yes, the PATS has been designed from the ground up to work in some of the most difficult environments possible, such as underground mines with high humidity, large temperature variances, and intense vibration.
What countries are currently supported?
We currently offer PATS in Canada and the US, however we are expanding to other countries and continents.
What kind of training and support plan do you offer?
We offer a 24/7 support and monitoring solution to ensure you are always able to reach a member of our team. We can custom tailor a training and support solution for you so that all workers are properly trained in the use of the device and able to reach a real person in case of any difficulties.
