What is PATS?

The Personal Alert Tracking System (PATS) is an AI-based warning system for mining operators. It consists of the PTAD, a GPS-enabled bracelet which delivers haptic, auditory, and visual feedback to alert the wearer of potential danger, such as vehicles and unsafe equipment moving at high speeds.

How does the PATS work?

A worker wears the PATS device, which continuously monitors and sends positional data to SafeTek Mining’s servers and/or nearby sensors. Our application keeps track of vehicles in your operation, and uses our proprietary algorithm to determine whether there is a danger to the worker.

Three Tiers of Protection

Tier 1: Essential Safety Without Connectivity

Designed with small and medium-sized mines in mind, our Tier 1 solution provides critical safety features without requiring a 5G, LTE, or WiFi backbone. This allows mines with limited infrastructure to implement life-saving safety measures with minimal setup.

  • BLE Beacons and Receivers: Proximity alerts between individuals, vehicles, and designated danger zones, helping prevent collisions and alerting workers to hazardous areas.
  • Adaptable Alerting System: Our system detects proximity between different entities (individual-to-individual, vehicle-to-vehicle, location-to-vehicle) to reduce accidents in high-risk areas.

Tier 2: Advanced Safety with Real-Time Alerts and Monitoring

For mines looking to enhance safety with direct communication capabilities, Tier 2 expands upon Tier 1 with added SOS and advanced sensor integration, helping detect potential hazards before they escalate.

Tier 3: Comprehensive Safety with Full Connectivity and Remote Capabilities

Our Tier 3 solution is designed for large-scale operations requiring robust connectivity, offering real-time video monitoring, advanced biometric analysis, and remote vehicle operation to improve both safety and efficiency.

  • High-Bandwidth 5G Integration: Where available, our Tier 3 solution supports low-latency 5G connectivity to enable seamless, high-quality data transfer across the entire mining site.

Three Tiers of Protection

Tier 1

Our most basic tier, which is targeted toward small and medium-sized mines, is designed to be used without any connectivity backbone in the mine. Whereas many systems require either a 5G, LTE, or WiFi connection, our Tier 1 system uses only proximity sensing BLE beacons to communicate danger.

Tier 2

Our Tier 2 solution increases the safety offered by our Tier 1 solution by adding additional features, such as real-time SOS communication between workers and a central station. We also add more advanced danger warning by integrating with vehicles’ and machines’ sensor data and checking that it is in a safe state for maintenance and operations to proceed. Finally, we add advanced biometric data analysis by checking a worker’s vital signs and reporting the results to a central server. By analyzing the results over time, we can confirm the worker is not at increasing risk of health complications.

Tier 3

Our most advanced tier makes use of high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity backbones such as 5G (where available) to integrate cameras (for remote monitoring of sites and processes), biometrics data (for realtime health and hazard checks), and remote operation of vehicles, to reduce operational costs, increase worker safety, and increase efficiency across your mining operation.
